New Johnson 150 counter rotating prop shaft seems slighlty bent, prop has slight wobble. Thrust bearing is on. Local mechanic said this is inherent to counter rotation do to milling and has tool to straighten. Straighten or replace before extended warrenty expires?

Re: Johnson 150 counter rotating prop wobble

Welcome!

If its under warranty there really isnt any question. The shaft should be straight. Has it always been this way? "New Johnson 150" -- How new/old?

Theres no reason the shaft should be produced as anything other than straight. However if you are watching the prop rather than the shaft, the hub could be a bit crooked. Check the shaft without a prop on.

Good luck!

Year 2000. It has always been this way. Unfortunately I was not to concerned when I hand spun the prop and noticed it rubbed the housing slightly after taking delevery. Unsure of local mechanics explaination and solution. Will address issue when I am able with certified Johnson dealer upon return home.
Thanks for the Reply "D".
Mark.

Youre very welcome. It may just be prop "wobble" rather than a bent shaft. Let us know how you make out!

Good luck!
