Johnson 150GT. Can you identify what year/model based off serial number?

I just picked up a 1989 seacraft with a Johnson 150 GT. The motor is a 25" and the serial number is R08256960. I want to pick up a factory manual along with a lower unit real seal kit, but I cannot do either of these until I properly identify the year and model. Anybody have any insight that I should be aware of with these motors? It already runs premix so VRO problems shouldn't arise, unless the pump itself goes out.

You need the model number to get the year. There should be a welch plug with the model number on the power head or the manufactures tag on the left side of the transom mounting bracket.

You might check with a local dealer, I remember years ago (a lot of them) we had a cross reference that would convert a serial number to a model year.
