The rods, pistons, coils and maybe rectifier. The 150 is a v6 so the l/u will not work but on the plus side those are not cheap eng and from what i am told the are tork monsters.

It's a little hard to see definitively, but the engine's hood is pretty short. Does not look to be a V6 engine. Looks like a V4 cowling. Ask the seller for the model number off the transom bracket and double check it before you purchase.

All of the 150's are v6 the largest v4's were 140.

Picked up the boat and the motor is a 140hp. How compatable is it with my 135?

Re: Johnson 150hp parts motor

The powerheads are not interchangeable, if that is your question. The 76 base gasket is different from the 77 and later 140's. Your engine has just one vernatherm (thermostat), the 140's all have two thermostats. With that change in 1977, the configuration of the powerhead base changed along with the mating surface on the midsection adapter. The 140 block has a special cutout in the exhaust chest which the 135 did not have, which helped increase the powerhead rating in 1977. These early 140's had larger carbs and debuted the rubber intake filler blocks. Looks like the ignition system is pretty similar. The 140's all had the later model trim system.
