I recently completely rebuilt a 1965 Johnson 75 hp outboard. It runs great but I can’t figure out how it mounts to the transom. I have the service manual and I’ve watched many videos about this engine but none of them explain how it bolts on. I’m at a loss at what to do so any help would be much appreciated.

Very simple.----These motors came with a set of brackets.----The brackets bolted to the transom.----The motor dropped in to those brackets.----Then 2 lock pins held the motor down.----Walk on over I have those brackets.----Your location ?

Dealers used a drilling fixture. But here are the instructions for when the fixture is not available.Transom drilling template.jpg

Now that I think about it I’m pretty sure the motor already has the bracket on it I just didn’t know that it was a separate part that could be removed. I’ll check it out. Thanks.
