on the first motor. I just picked up a 40 hp Gale Elec start for 50 bucks. The second motor 900 is a lot. Get a good 7.5 to 10 hp J/E from the late 50's early sixties. Can be had around here running ready to go for 3-400

$50 is a pretty darned good deal. The starter alone is worth more than that. LOL Yea, freddyray makes a good point. There's a lot of good oldies for good deals around here cheap. You can easily beat the 3 - 400 price too, if you watch the ads good. heck, I found an ad for a free boat with a 1958 Lark laying inside. I told the guy I was not interested in the boat and offered him cash for the motor. He asked $50 and also gave two more 40hp Larks LOL Brought them home and got two of them running before I even spend a dime. So the good deals are out there, if you shop around.

Thanks guys I will search, maybe I?m doing it in the wrong place, and with that kind of prices and as you see the nonsense prices around here, even I can pay freight shipping to my door...so I very much appreciated your good comments and maybe ask a little help about where to start looking...Again and again, thanks you all!!

If you try to buy a motor outside your area, try to buy one as far away from salt water as possible. A fresh water motor from the midwest is a good location.

Salt water just kills motors!
