Johnson 33 hp (1967) Parts Question

I am converting my 1967 Johnson 33 from long shaft to short:
1) One part I removed was the long bolt (304135) at rear that fastens the gearcase to the exhaust housing, including the 5" housing extension. Do I need to insert a shorter bolt here if I have removed the extension, or do the 6 smaller bolts do the job? The original parts diagram does not show a shorter version.
2) In looking for the gearcase drain plug (finally found on underneath side of case) I wrongly loosened a screw (308376) labelled "PIN, pivot" on my parts diagram. What is this, and do I need to make any correction having loosened it?
Thanks for any counsel on these.

1. You need short bolt part #302871
2. If you just loosened the pivot pin, just tighten it back up. If you removed it, make sure it goes back through the hole in the shift lever or yoke. It MUST go through the hole, or the motor won't shift properly. You may need to shine a light in the hole, move the shift rod slightly until you see the hole in the yoke. Or use an ice pick or awl to line things up. Then replace the pin.

Thank you. That part number for the short bolt shows up nowhere in my parts diagram, so I appreciate the information.
Fortunately, I did not remove that screw, just loosened and now tightened.
Again, thanks.
