Rotate crank shaft and align key way with points rub block (part that contacts the points cam). Using feeler guage, set point gap to .020. Rotate crank shaft 180 degrees, and again, align key way with rub block and set point gap.

Thank you. spark looks sort of punish but with a shot of ether I got it started.
Planing to replace spark plugs and wires and get new gaskets for the carb.
Impeller is not pumping either.

Manfred, you mentioned that you replaced the coils....did you mount them properly? The coils should be mounted so that the coil bases sit flush with the mounting bosses on the armature plate.....make surface A flush with surface B (2 per coil). Just loosen coil mounting screws to make adjustments and tighten.
Take Tashasdaddy's good advice...loose the starting fluid. Use premixed fuel in a squirt bottle instead.
