Johnson 4 hp Rattle noise

I have a 1994 Johnson 4hp Deluxe.

When I am giving it throttle it makes a rattle sound.

Is this normal?

Other than that it runs like new.

Sounds like lots of things. Where is the rattle coming from? Locate the rattle and maybe we can answer your question.

I know that sound - I grew up with a 1986 4DLX. It was my first outboard, and it made that sound too. If it's the sound I think it is, it's completely normal. I put hundreds upon hundreds of hours on that motor and it never let me down. I should never have sold it
