Johnson 48spl is it worth fixing

I just got a 14ft center counsel. It came with a johnson 48spl. The motor has a very burn piston. The guy told me it was do to a miss pitched prop. I took the cover off and you can see the damage to the piston. The cylinder is in real good shape. I hand spun the fly wheel and the piston still move up and down very smoothly. Ho0w much damage could have been done. Is it worth fixing. If it is what kind of price range would it take to replace the piston

what year of model? the 48 is a great work horse, for a 2 cylinder. i have had several. they are the 50 hp without OMS, and bells & whistles.

Look on this website for rebuilt powerheads to get an idea of what the costs might be for just the powerhead w/o labor.
