Also, you can buy an handy "oil measurer" at any marine store that easily tells you how much oil for a certain amount of gas. Just find the ratio on the handy measurer, determine the amount of gas you used to fill tank, then fill the oil up to that mark.
Make sure the tank is thoroughly mixed. I usually have an additional six gallon plastic can that I will first put about 16 oz in first, add about a gallon from the gas pump, thoroughly mix the can, then add the other five gallons while agitating the can. I will then use this plastic can to fill my tank on board.
