Hey everyone. I posted a question on this forum a few weeks ago about problems with a 1999 50hrp Johnson. Originally I lost power and it was difficult to start. The suggestions were great but I have not solved the problem yet. So here is my detailed situation.

I run the engine with a 50:1 mix. I have checked the compression and both cylinders are getting 120psi. I removed the carburetors and they looked good. I cleaned them with carb cleaner, replaced the gaskets and put them back on. I have spark and the timing looks good.

I tried starting the engine again and I have the same problem and a few more. To start the engine I have to open up the throttle and when I bring it back to neutral the motor stalls out. There is now oil leaking out of the prop/exhaust, which might be from choking the engine a lot. Also, the other odd thing is that the carburetors were sweating and cool to the touch and had a kind of white milky liquid coming out of the barrels and into the air silencer.

I am thinking that the vro may be bad because it makes a clicking noise a few minutes after I stop cranking the engine. I have no idea why the carbs would be sweating or what the milky liquid is. Any suggestions would be great to hear.

Thanks!
