Hi guys and girls.
I was given a Fletcher arrowsport 14ft over christmas.
I have cleaned her up and had her on the muffs running nice and quiet, smooth and starts first time... REALLY CHUFFED!
However,....
I took her for the maiden voyage on saturday and we launched up river and slowly cruised out to the harbour, then out to sea (christchurch dorset)
Everything was perfect and she ran really well!
Then she died. (as if it was a fuel problem)
We were full throttle on the controls and she was going well.
She started back up, so we turned back and headed home.
We went back up to full throttle slowly and everything was good, but at the mouth of the run into the harbor she died again.
Just before she died i pumped the fuel ball and it made no difference. The throttle was fully forward, but she just died as if there was no fuel / ignition.
After 10 minutes or so of using the ores to head towards shore, and not getting very far i decided to try one more time to get her started, she fired, but now only on two of the 3 cylinders.
It was enough to get us up the 100m run and to the safety of the local pub whilst i fetched the van and trailer.
Yesterday, i put her on the muffs and made the effort to find what cylinder wasnt working and do the man thing, of just look at it for ages, until someone planted some usefull knowlege in my head! HAHAHA
She fired up first time, and ran perfect, i gave a little rev and all was sweet again!!!!!!
Confused i put it all away and left it...
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to where to start looking please?
i have already bought plugs and a filter, was going to do that before i had problems anyway, but cant see either being the root cause, esp as she was running so well for at least half hour before we got right out to sea.
she hasnt been run for at least a year, and is premix, 50:1, the fuel and oil is new, so is the battery.
Thanks in advance! Really appriciate any help..
