Johnson 65 hp Goes then cuts out!

I have a 72 65hp Johnson. We finally got to take it to the lake last week and for the first timne it started right up. We are having troubles with it dying when we put it into gear. We kind of have to keep giving then backingg off to keep it from dying on us. Then we'll get out and plain out. 1-2 minutes of moving it cuts down like it is choked out but chokes are wide open. Is there a fast idle adjustment on these? This has three carbs and they say slow idle mix. I know some have fasst idle. Does this one? Any help would be appreciated!<br />-Justin

jberryppl__________ had a similar problem with a 75--115 hp rude. I have a built in fuel tank that had a fine screen in the end of the pickup tube. It would become plugged at high speed and shut the motor down like I was out of gas. I used a small stiff wire and punched it full of larger holes, installed an inline filter and problem was solved.______ Good luck, hope this helps____________rdj jr
