Johnson 7.5 Prop Nut Cover

I have a '57 Johnson 7.5hp and the cap that covers the prop cotter pin and shear pin is missing. The local dealerships have no way of looking up parts this old and I was wondering if anyone knows if it's still available

Have you tried looking on the internet. Try Ishopmarine.com or vintage outboards.com or even try here at Iboats.com.

Those parts should still be available. Or you could try google and type in prop nut covers or Johnson prop nut covers.

I don't have the parts list for the '57 but on a '56 the part #'s are:

Prop Cap - 303356 called the rubber cap
Shear Pin - 302333 called the drive pin

You could also try the folks at aomci.org you could post in the classifieds. Someone might have spares.

You've got a type-o, Steve. The prop cap is BRP 303365. It looks like its vintage special order. A couple years ago it wasn't. Better call around to the local dealers and see if anyone has one. My dealer had it in stock when I needed one.
