Johnson 7.5 year made?

I just bought a Johnson 7.5. Its in like new condition but I cannot find a plate with numbers to help I.d it. The only numbers I have found are on the mounting bracket and its stamped 3 83. The motor apears to be an early 80's. But I would like to know for sure. Also, is the fuel mix 50:1 ? Thanks

I did find a small round metal tab on the motor with the following numbers J8RCTA and E5741855. What do those stand for.

8 - HP

R - Rope start

CT - Model year, 1983

A - production line code

Thanks alot for the help on decoding them numbers. Can anyone confirm the oil mix of 50:1. while I am asking does the ethanol in fuel effect the mix ratio any. I have heard I should run more oil.
