Johnson 72 Sea Horse

I recently acquired a 1972 9.5 sea Horse and Iam curious on the maintence schedule .I completely cleaned the motor and carb.Comp. is great and the motor runs like a raped ape.I would like to keep it that way.What can I do to maintain the performance. I never owned an outboard before.I am working on a copy of an owners manual.thanks

Howdy Lionsfn.<br /><br />Your best bet is to get an Owner's Manual and a Service Manual. Read them carefully and follow the instructions in there with a couple of exceptions:<br /><br />1. Mix your fuel with TCW-3 API rated oil.<br /><br />2. Use only 87 octane, alcohol-free, unleaded regular gasoline.<br /><br />Good luck.
