Johnson 88 SPL Question

I have a 1993 model Johnson 88 SPL that I just bolted onto my pontoon. The previous engine was a Mercury and I'm trying to decide what setting the tach needs to be set to in order to receive from the new engine.

I think the settings on the back of the tach has settings like 4 cylinder with 2 pulses 4, and so on. It will also receive from 6 and 8 cylinder engines but I know I have a 4 cylinder. Just don't know the pulse of the engine. I'm not sure where to find this info. Any help is welcomed.

You should find the tach will work if you set the pointer to 6 (P).
