My 88 special lost two rings(think I found out why) and in my search for a new block(broke a small part when removing powerhead) I found a 115 block with a bubble back exhaust. When I rebuild will this result in a 115 hp motor or do I need to upgrade my carbs to achieve 115 hp.

Carbs, reeds, exhaust leg....there are many differences. Yes, you will benefit from the larger block but to say you have an actual 115 is really too optimistic. Let's just say you will have a healthy 88 ;)........ you should go for the carbs if you can find them.

Thanks Bob. My carbs are good but can I change out the orifices(non adjustable jets) instead of the whole carb?

No. Carbs have different size throats.
