Johnson 88spl Can't break lower unit free to chg water pump impeller

What am I missing or is this just an inherently hard thing to do?
I have taken loose-4 main bolts, zink bolt, torq tab bolt still glued on!!!!

what the heck!!!!! this thing is not budging. Resorted to mallet and block with no headway.
Is there some sort of jig that assist in removal of lower unit when frozen on?

There is another bolt under the torque tab. Heat,heat,heat.

got that bolt boobie forgot to mention. Heat what end? exhaust housing or lower unit? I guess I'm gonna have to burn up paint job

Did you disconnect the shift rod?

Six bolts holding the gear case to the exhaust housing.

Dang me! I thought everybody was talking about bolt through trim tab now i found the one under it. Thanks for the help. Now I do have a problem with shift rod which I thought I had disconnected but it is hanging on by a hair. Any suggestions on that?

Did you take the clip out of the shifter shaft on starboard side of engine, and push inward on the shifter shaft to disengage the shift rod?

Thanks Clanton The number of bolts was big help. That dang hidden one got me.
I got the shift rod out. I had the pin/clip out but it just took some jigglin to get loose.
Now Im faced with chanking impeller or not. I got the boat about six mos. ago and prev. owner said he replaced it but I never go on that. It looks brand new and cup has no skid marks (ha). I'm kinda pressed to get it running. Practicality says change it, it's not that much $ but I want to get it out the way and not sure if I can get kit soon enough.
