I have a 84 1.6L OMC which is basically the same as a 115 Johnson. I also have an 87 90hp Johnson that I bought for parts. It seems that allot of the parts are the same for both engines. The stator, ignition coils, rectifier, although I noticed that the power packs are a different number although they look the same, not sure about the packs. Can anyone share their expirience on these comparibilities of the electrical systems. Both engines are power trim & tilt models. Just one last item, the carb's also look the same, except I noticed the the jets on 90 and 115 are different. I'm thinking larger jets on the 115 model. Can those jets be changed over so that I can use the 90 hp carb on my 115hp while delivering the same fuel and HP. Thanks Walt.

You will probably find that the carb throat size as well as the jet sizes are different between the 90 and the 115. Rejetting the 90 carbs with 115 jets will overfuel the amount of air that goes through the 90 carb. If you put 90 hp carbs on a 115, it will be 90 hp.

OK thanks for the info on the carbs. I figured as much but thought I would ask.
