I have a Johnson 90 saltwater edition bombadier. The last two times I had it out it would run perfectly at all speeds for 20 or 30 minutes and then it would start losing power at high speed and run intermediately the rest of the trip (powering up and bogging down. I put a new fuel line bulb on and drained fuel tank but it still does same thing. Help.

is 90 the year or hp? is it running hot? check compression, and spark. it runs good for that long, leaves out carbs, but not fuel supply.

Re: Johnson 90 Bombadier

If it seems like you are turning a switch on and off it may be and ignition component failing as it heats up.
A model number will help tell what year/type Johnson you have.
Someone should be along with more info.

Could be S.L.O.W. engaging due to overheat. Could be coil going bad. Need the model number or at least the age of your motor.

If it is a 2 stroke carb model, check the timing sensor, power pack, and ignition coils.
