Johnson - compatible or not??

Hi,
Been offered the following engine at a very low price - it is a runner, although in need of major cosmetics - but I would rather scavenge it for parts for my 1993/4 E50rnlic.

The motor is a Johnson model# 55 sl76e
serial# r or b 4696 (r or b hard to make out)

Would this motor be compatible for parts?????

Surely you must realize that there is a 17 year difference in the motors? Well, sure there may be some parts the same, but I'd expect a whole lot more are different.
