I have a 115hp Johnson Model 115TL79R, I have another motor an Evinrude 100hp Model 100293R.
Are the power head and gear box compatable between models?
Thanks

No. Which do you want to make whole? The 1979 model would be my choice in a heartbeat.

Prefer the 115hp as well. It is suffering from failed gearbox & no 2 piston has dropped a ring. The 100 power head & gearbox appear fine.
Thanks for your input

Most any standard 115 crossflow powerhead from 1979 up will work on that midsection, so you have a lot to work with, plus you can upgrade the carburetors and even go to a VRO/OMS if you want. The lower units are easy to find at salvage yards or on Ebay. You just need to make sure that the driveshafts are the correct lengths.
