johnson faststrike 150 problems

i have a 1991 johnson faststrike 150 i dont have a clue what is wrong. i can run it hard all day at 5400 rpm and all of the sudden it will drop to about 4000 rpm and miss and spudder then get back up the 5500 then when ya stop to fish and start it back up it takes it 1000 yards to plane out and throttle to the floor only 4000 rpm. changed plugs 2 times. please send some info.
