Never seen one but, have a guy telling me he has a Johnson FastStrike 150 Ficht motor. Did I just miss something or what? Picture even shows it as a Ficht!

Johnson FICHTS were built in '97 and '98. In '99 Johnsons were the "traditional" engines until 2002 when they included 4-strokes, now up to 225hp for 2004.

Fichts usually dont use much fuel. They are normally at the shop being overhauled. If your thinking about buying a Ficht PLEASE do your homework.Check the local boat shops, talk to the techs. Im a tech, I wouldnt buy one.

I thought the FastStrikes were carbed V6 motors only? I know a few Johnson Fichts were made, but were they tagged as FastStrikes???

Yes Jason they were label "Fast Strike".

The 2000 and newer Fichts (Evinrudes) have a much more reliable reputation than the early 98/99 models.

Like someone else said, do your homework if your buying. I've got a 2001 Ficht and would buy another in a heartbeat.

-John
