JOHNSON GEAR CASE

Is it at all possible a gear case assembly from a 1956 18hp FD11 would work with a 1955 10hp QD16 ?<br /><br />QD16 Gear Case 376402<br /><br />FD11 Gear Case 376844<br /><br />The 10hp Runs sweet the 18hp is missing a few important things like a recoil and bonnet ?

Ouch FD11 seems to be 1957 18hp anyway they seem to be a close fit although I have not take the 18hp gear case off and tried to squeeze it together they do seem to have the same part number for a propellor shaft.

Thanks for the link, it seems that the QD power heads and lower units are quite compatible for sever years and models and brands.
