johnson head problem.

I need Torque speciation on head bolts and water cover. Johnson 90 hp 1989 also need the tighten sequence of head bolt pattern. I just bought a manual from ken cook should be here first of next week. Thanks.

head bolt torque 18-20 lb\ft
small water cover screws 60-84 in\lbs
start in center and do two move up do two move down do two etc.
start small ie 6-lbs\ft then 12 lbs\ft etc.
Put gasket sealer on bolt threads and head gasket...even if gasket says not to. They found that as the gaskets got older the sealer would dry so new recommendation is to apply gscp to head gaskets.

Sorry Gasket sealing compound.. Mercury's product is called Perfect seal... there may be other after market products that do the same job but I am unfamiliar with them.
