I found a lower unit on E-bay, but I'm not sure it will fit my 71 Johnson 125 with Hydro electric shift. Can someone who would know got to E-bay and let me know. The AD can be searched by putting in "Johnson 115 lower unit with midsection" <br /> Thanks

I couldn't find the ad, but as far as I know there was never a 115 with electric shift so that L/U won't work on your motor.

I was told you cant even take a 73 non hydro and put your good power head on top of it, apparently they are VERY specific ... frustrating, my 71 Johnson 125 is a freshwater motor with maybe a few hundred hours on it - I should start messing with it, maybe the guy was wrong, said it wouldnt shift - but keep hunting, good luck

LUs from 1969-1972 V4s (85, 100, 115 & 125hp) will work.

That one that's on eBay will fit. However, it's pitted (see closeup), therefore driveshaft may be also. Go freshwater it you can, then at least if it's rebuildable if need be.
