I need information and a diagram of how to change a water pump in my 1971 Johnson 6hp motor model 6r-716 thanks Dave.

place motor in reverse, remove bolts that hold lower, lower will drop 3/4 of an inch, remove the shift linkage bolt, in the crack. reinstalling the bolt has to do thru the detent in the shift rod. also do not loose the key way pin. easily lost when removing impeller.
