I am trying to get my 1962 75hp johnson sea horse running. It has no spark. I don't understand the timing advance
system on it. Well that is what I think it is anyway LOL. All I know is that I am getting fuel coming out of the bottom
of it, and when I pull a plug I am not getting any fire. I don't know much about outboards, as you can tell. Thanks Adam

You need a manual, Adam.

Check your kill switch circuit. That is the only thing common to all cylinders ignition.

:)

Re: Johnson motor (not getting any spark)

Hello Adam
Your motor has a magnito\points ignition. The magnito is driven by a belt from your fly wheel.
If you have no spark, check your kill switch circuit. If it's not that then clean your points. If I were you I'd take JB's advice and obtain a manual. This will help you tons. If you don't want to fork out the bucks for one, you might try your public library, your tax dollars at work. Good luck, let us know if you have any more questions.

If the points and cap are in good condition, check coil inside mag.
