I have always used Johnson Motor Oil in my 1989 Johnson 150 GT. I used the Johnson Evinrude xd 30. Now Academy doesnt sell it anymore. Instead they sell Evinrude Johnson 2 Stroke Premium Marine Huile 2 temps Prime De Marine. Is this the same and can use it in my motor. The sales people at Academy are clueless.

that academy Johnson oil is designed for 100 hp and below motors.if you insist on buying from them id use the xlf Pennzoil or the citgo superguard which is at the bottom of the page not the one that is up further which is for pwc,s etc.

You may use any TCW-III rated 2 cycle oil in your motor. It can be Pennz, Johnny, Yammielube, Wallyworld or any other brand.

BTW - This is not an oil thread....

I'd be considering a switch to the Bombardier XD50 oil. It's a synthetic blended oil that has a carbon guard additive. Actually an upgrade from the XD30 you have been running. These crossflows tend to accumulate carbon the more hours they run, and the XD50 helps to minimize carbon buildup on the ringsets and on the piston skirts.
