Have a 1977 25hp and want to connect steering on my 14 ft. jon boat. Other than the wheel and cables isn't there a steering arm or something that I'll need at the motor to connect the cable to? Also should the cable be mounted to (for support) to the side somewhere or just go from the wheel to the motor?

Ya know I was thinking about the stick cause that way you don't have the console in the way. How do you like you and is it a problem to control?

I like the idea of the stick and having more room.

this little boat was more fun, 1960 14' Lonestar, 55 15hp rude. i'd say i was going fishing and never put a pole in the water, just ride and play, jump my own wake, etc. it loved rough water, ran out at about 25mph. controls on the center seat.
