What gaskets do you want to replace? Is there a problem?

You need to drop the lower unit if you're pulling the powerhead. You don't need to do it to get them apart, but you will need the unit off when reassembling the motor. The powerhead goes back on first so afterwards you can align the water tube into the lower unit.
The lower unit should just unbolt and drop off....
- Scott

Re: johnson outboard gaskets

I tried to take off the lower unit. I took off all the bolts connecting the lower unit to the upper unit. Is there any bolts connecting the units from the inside? It seems like it. Where do I start?
