Re: Johnson Sea Horse 3 HP
Hi Flyfisher<br />Your JW10 is a 1952-54 model. Sounds like it's time for the works. If the coils haven't been replaced, its probably way past time to do so. The old ones tend to crack and split. The miss you speak of, could it be a sneeze? This could be caused by to lean of air\fuel mixture. Needle valves dirty or mal adjusted. Disassemble carb, clean it, maybe put a kit in it. Starting setting for low speed, 1.5 turns out from lightly seated. High speed 3\4 turns out from lightly seated. For the full picture, I suggest you obtain a manual. There are lots of manuals. I am not a book salesman. But the Clymer #B734 will work for your unit.
