Johnson Sea Horse

A friend of mine has a Johnson Sea Horse out board motor. Its identified as NBR 37, Seria NBR 2257295. Anyone know how to establish the age of this motor? .

Thanks guys for the info on the Johnson Seahorse. You were correct, the serial NBR was wrong. It turns out to be a 1937 DS 37.
