:confused:I have just acquired a Johnson seahorse model 647340 TD-20. this is my very first motor and i am quite excited about getting it running again. I took the engine apart and now i need ot find the gaskets for the motor and the problem is i have a broken connecting rod. I have looked on ebay and they don't have the same year as what i have, this does anyone have an extra!;) Thank you for your help!:)

....problem is i have a broken piston rod.

Pssshh!

Get yourself a different motor and Ebay the parts.

If it blew a rod, I'm sure you have cylinder, crank, piston, case damage, and probably chunks missing from the intake manifold.

You'll probably need a new powerhead.

pics of the engine?

Try eBay...I just saw a lot of TN stuff there. You might get lucky.

Not even in your wildest dreams!

EDIT:
Go to www.aomci.org and place a free want ad on their Webvertize Classified Ads page. I'll bet you'll find one there.

Re: help!

According to your serial number your motor was built in 1948. The connecting rod is the same for all the LT/AT/DT 4.2 hp Johnson's 1937-40 and the TD/TN 5 hp Johnson's 1946-53. The original part number is 42-75.
