will not run too much above idle speed. This started on a duck hunt, the motor Johnson 28hp(1991) started and ran fine all morning, then i got into some mud and after that the motor will start and idle fine but if i throttle up from a little past idle to full throttle all i get is a rapid pulsation and get nothing more out of the motor. It doesnt stall just pulsates(sorry this is the best i can describe it). This happens in both forward and reverse. Visable inspection of prop was fine but i havent taken it off. Any ideas??
thanks
james

Does it do this in neutral or just in gear?

Take the prop off and see if it still does it. If it doesn't you propably spun the prop. If it does then it could be a bent prop shaft or something in the lower unit. Let us know.

Rich

Have you tried it since you got back. Sounds sorta like the overheat limiter kicked in. My did that once and it too a good hour before it would let the motor run right. Walker
