A few weeks ago I bought a Johnson Super Sea-Horse (80 h.p.). I want to mount it on my transom but can't figure out if the two threaded holes are for thumbscrews??? The fact that I just see two are why I kind of leaning towards thumbscrews. However, it is an 80 h.p. so transom bolt-thru screws make sense also. Anybody got any feedback???

There are no thumbscrews on my '67 Super. I would definatly go with bolts, same size and thread. Prob add locking nuts with it. I will have to go and look at mine. Never paid much attention to the transom and bolts as they were new when I got the boat. Interesting

Those older motors had both thumbscrews and needed thru bolts. If the threaded holes are on the boat side of the motor, and on the top, they are likely thumbscrews. Try 1/2 fine thread bolts, with heavy washers under them to protect the transom.

Don't forget the thru bolts.....
