I was changing my oil on my Johnson 140 and the oil filter they gave me was about one inch longer than the original one...do they make two filters one short one long or did they give me the wrong one Thanks for any info

Hi, Musky.

They probably gave you the filter for the automotive version of the engine. No worries.

I use Suzuki Samurai oil filters on my DF70. They are longer than the marine version, but they fit and they are a lot cheaper.

Good luck. :)

Musky3,

They gave you the filter for the DF90/115. The DF140 uses the shorter filter because of the oil cooler. As long as the filter does not hit the side cover, you should be OK.

JB:
Do you have a catalog number for that Suzuki samurai oil filter? Do you just ask for a filter to fit a 1.3 litre engine? I'd like to try those on my DF70.

Manitoba1
