Hi men, Ive been offered a Coastworker 21 with a Johnson V4 engine.
Can anyone help me to identifiy the year and horsepower of it.

Model No 8J140TLCS

Ser No 67034972

I took the numbers from what looked like a core plug on the head as I wasn't able to see the ones on the leg clearly enough.

I've had a look here at the 140Hp numbers but can't seem to find anything similar to the ones above.
Many thanks

Re: Johnson V4

Hi it's me again, I've just be searching other post on the forum about dating engines, and come up with this
8?
J = Johnson
140 = 140Hp
T or have I misread it and it's P = power trim & tilt
L = longshaft
CS = 1980
Could anyone confirm this please, also has anyone any comments about this models, performance, reliability or any other issues.

Thanks again

Re: Johnson V4

The 8 might be a B = Belgium? T=tilt and trim.

Thanks SCPO, your absolutley right, I've just checked out another forum I use here in the UK, and a Johnson techie confirmed it all the 8 must be a B for Belgium.

A wonderful thing this world wide web
