Re: johnson water pump

the motor must be submerged atleast 1/2 way up the leg. the pump is the the bulge of the leg. it is not self priming, and must be submerged. you should get mist or droplets, out of the 2 exhaust relief ports on the middle back of the leg. the rest goes out the bottom exhaust.

Re: johnson water pump

that did the trick:) i can see a fair amount of water droplets coming out the exhaust so i'm guessing it's working. i let run a few minuites and it ran well. my only problem now is when i turn the key off the engine still runs till you choke it out. i dont want to keep doing that, i dont want to ruine my plugs. any ideas? thanks again for the help.

if i am not miss taken, that motor cannot be run on muffs. the water pick up is the screen, on the bottom side of the fin above the prop, where the exhaust comes out. you may have just burnt up and impeller, running it dry.
