johnson- year and engine size?

Hi,I just picked up a johnson,model CD-24S, serial# J2817370,I was told it is a 9.5 hp engine but the cover has a faded 6 on it,if anyone could tell me the year and engine size it would be greatly appreciated, thanks,J.R.

my book says that a CD-24 is a 1967 six hrse...don't see a CD-245 listed
