Johnson'75 - 50hp won't run at idle

Outboard has not been started in two years. I do not know any other history. Good compression of 155. Installed new water pump, new coils, new plugs. Engine started right up with choke and warm-up idle set. Ran smooth for 45 min with warm-up throdle, but would not run at lower idle. Plan on checking fuel pump. What are the chances that carb needs a good cleaning? Is that a difficult task? What about low idle adjustments? It is a dual carb system. I know I need a manual. Any other advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, <br />Roger

Definitely get a manual. Rebuild both carbs as they probably have varnish in the jets. Make sure the high speed jets are perfectly clean. Replace the needle valve and seat. When you attach the new float make sure that it is levelwith the carb when turned upside down. Sorry, didn't see your post as I have been gone for a few days.
