thinking about getting a joystick tower the pro series. they custom cnc all there parts and dont use cheap helm joins that are ugly, plus they powder coat it for no charge. right now they have an off season special for 650 plus 85 shipping (to Mass) and the board rack is 130.

does anyone have one, or know anyone who has had them?

the tech guy there Ron is real nice. they have no prices on there website, i believe they are in the process of upgrading it. ron informed me that most tower companies are just bought and resold from china. theres are bent on mandral benders and all made in house in their shop

Re: Joystick Towers

Sounds like a typical sales pitch to me, and them wanting you to buy their product... might be decent.

Re: Joystick Towers

check them out. ive spent plenty of time researching. they dont use flimsy aluminum tubing, its 1/8' think 2.5" 6061 aircraft grade aluminum. the y are onsale from 850 summer price to 650 winter price. its a small operation. they made pylons during the 90s and have switched to towers because thats where the demand is. i have nothing against monster towers other than the fact i think they are ugly

Re: Joystick Towers

Hey Man,
I just ordered one. I've not read one single complaint yet. What sent me over the edge was an outside article posted by a self proclamied "engineer" that seriously went through the parts and analyzed the entire setup. http://articles.richardhartman.net/tower/tower.htm <---take a peek at that. I was a little leary of the single bar top as I've heard nasty things about that type rattling while underway. I'll post my OWN review after I install mine. Good luck bro!

Re: Joystick Towers

I feel ya man. I ordered mine in powdercoat blue. Ron just told me last night that they changed to a darker blue. Might match your boat pretty well. He also told me they have their racks on sale right now for 130 bucks. So I went ahead and ordered one of those as well! Good luck with your project man!

Re: Joystick Towers

thanks man! you as well. post some picks when your done. my boat is currently appart with cap off to replace stringers/deck/transom. im gonna flip the cap and build up the fiberglass where the mounts will most likely go. Ron gave me the dimentions. and also make plywood backing as well. its gonna get ABUSE!!!!!!!!!! tried to do a backflip on a kneeboard with a tri hull outboard. almost made it....hardly any wake and the tow rope was attached 10" above water line. i think a 6' tower will help :)

Buddy! Fantastic! I hope we didn't make the wrong mistake. I dont think either of us did, as Joystick was the only tower online I couldn't find one legit problem with! Good luck man, post pics!

Re: Joystick Towers

still have the boat apart replacing the transom stingers and deck. the cap is off the boat, im going to build up the mounting area with more fiberglass and a fab a larger plywood backer as well. ill be sure to take pictures and document so everyone has a sense of how difficult it is or isnt and whether or not it is in their comfort zone to attempt to do. i have no fiberglassing experience and im very confident that i can take on this install.

Re: Joystick Towers

My tower has been sitting in my living room for the past two weeks now. Every time I go into my kitchen, I see my poor boat, freezing its little outdrive off, waiting for me to install its tower.its KILLLLING me not do just go out and drill some holes and put it on, but I have to wait so I can have some warm enough weather to put some reinforcement behind my mounting points. Bayliners do not have the greatest reputation for the thickest fiberglass! Should look SICK when I'm done though, cannot wait! I can tell you though, those guys didnt lie, you can tell the quality that goes into these things. Don't find too much stuff any more that lives up to the hype of the manufacturer!

Most products look great all boxed up, let us know if you still feel the same after installation/fitment.

Re: Joystick Towers

Check out the tower, I personally cannot speak enough about this tower. If there is one possible thing to be absolutely nit picky on, the fine finish work on the mounts could be somewhat better. That is ABSOLUTELY IT! Amazingly well built! I have not assembled anything quite this easily in a while *cough* made in china *cough*.
