For ignition, just run a jumper wire from the battery positive terminal to the + terminal of the coil. To spin the starter, apply power to the small terminal on the starter closest to the block.

Then your coil was bad anyway! Never even heard of that before. To pieces, really?

Ryan: You need a manual for your engine and drive. There are numerous sites, including 4shared.com, where you can get one. Playing around with the cooling and the ignition systems when you really don't know what you're doing is going to be an expensive learning curve. By the way, what happened to the ignition switch and key that you need to bypass them? If your wiring is screwed up, you're going to need to get things connected correctly. Hy

Re: Jumping the pins to fire engine on standalone thru harness QUICK RAIN IS APPROACH

I have the manual and i do know relatively a lot about what im doing. What the goal was on this day was trying to start my motor on the engine stand ( which i had just rebuilt by my self) so that it could be adjusted on timing and make sure everything was done right not in the process i figured out what was wrong and like cr2k said is that was just a crappy coil i got, but i also figured out when i grinded around the exhaust elbow to remove the left over gasket and rust i didn't smooth it and it leaked over into the exhaust so i have since then grinded the area FLAT and used a sealant around the edges of the exhaust and water ports (i don't wanna take the elbow off again anyways) But thanks for the help im considering this thread closed thanks guys
