Now, back to reality:
The odds makers have the U.S team as minor favourites over the Canadian squad this year (as they did last year). As well, the U.S have hosted this event (4) times but have yet to win the Gold on their own soil and don't forget the U.S beat Canada for the Gold in O.Time last year...so all of this is in their favour.
As well the U.S and Canada don't meet until the medal round which is slightly different than previous years.
The current match ups for Canada are a lot of fast tough teams starting with Russia....in a few hours!!!
All of that said, I love (prefer?) the underdog stuff a bit and the tough early work helps build up a team in my opinion.
No matter how you cut it, it will be very fast premium hockey and any of these teams would give an adult pro/NHL team a run for their money.
Needless to say they would completely dominate the Maple Leafs
