If he's serving time at the end of Bush's term, Dubya will pardon him.

Re: Jury convicts Libby on four of five charges

Well at least we are agreeing that Perjury is a crime, that's refreshing . . . ;)

There was obviously no leak which was what all of the fuss was in the first place. Seems like he unnecessarily perjured himself to me: LA Times Article

"Libby was neither the first nor the only government official to speak with reporters about Wilson's wife before her identity surfaced. Nor was he alleged to have violated the federal law that protects against the disclosure of covert operatives."

It's about time that some of the Executive branch of our goverment are held for their crimes this is not the first nor will it be last individual that should have been in Prison, Unfortunatly the heads on goverment always have someone to fall on the spear for them. It applles equally to either party, left or right

Pardon Libby

By The Editors

President Bush should pardon I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby. The trial that concluded in a guilty verdict on four of five counts conclusively proved only one thing: A White House aide became the target of a politicized prosecution set in motion by bureaucratic infighting and political cowardice.

When partisans pounced on Bob Novak’s July 14, 2003, revelation that the wife of administration critic Joe Wilson worked at the CIA, they adopted Wilson’s paranoid persecution theory. Then a scandal-hungry media joined in. Novak’s unidentified administration sources were widely accused of criminal wrongdoing: having “outed” a covert agent.

The alleged motive for the leak was to punish Joe Wilson, whose account of his mission to Niger supposedly unmasked the administration’s manufactured case for the war in Iraq. The victim in this set piece was Valerie Plame Wilson, and the villains were Vice President Cheney, Karl Rove, and Scooter Libby.

From the very beginning of the ensuing spectacle, petty agendas subverted justice. The CIA, at war with the White House, and in particular with the vice president’s office, referred the leak to the Justice Department, even though the agency certainly knew that there had been no criminal violation since Plame wasn’t “covert.” (According to the relevant statute, only the leak of a covert agent’s identity is a criminal act. ) The CIA’s spokesman had also confirmed Plame’s employment to Novak, without sounding any alarms over the revelation of classified information. The referral to Justice—leaked to the media—was the act of an agency more concerned with shifting the blame for faulty Iraq intelligence than with protecting a supposedly vulnerable agent.

Now I do know that the republican party platform always has a lot to say about law enforcement and punishment of crimes. Many republicans will go out of their way to make sure that thiefs, liars and crooks will get serious prison terms reminiscent of their crimes.
My republican boating brothers. This is your chance. The man has been found guilty. Now please stick to your guns and serve him justice the way you believe justice should be served. Please don't hold back on your principles and let this miscreant have his punishment.

Re: Jury convicts Libby on four of five charges

I have a plan on how Bush should reign-in the nut squad...

He should hold a press conference, making sure that the entire alphabet media are there -- even aljazeeeerah.

He should explain that the trial was a circus, complete with a liberal journalist/author of a book about spies as a JUROR, and that legally, the other juror who was dissmissed should have triggered an automatic "mistrial". That didn't happen tho, for suspicious reasons.

Because of this, he should give the prosececutors in this case the following direct ultimatum:

Dem William Jefferson ,LA is to be indicted on charges of extortion and comandeering military equipment and personel for private use durring an emergency, and do so within 60days (before Libby's "sentence" is handed-down.

Sandy Burglar is to be indicted on charges of obsruction, theft and vandalism of national documents, and his security clearence PERMINENTLY revoked within 60days.

If not, he will fully-pardon Libby in 61 days

Re: Jury convicts Libby on four of five charges

I thought this was an investigation about who leaked a civil servants name other than her husband ----- repeatedly. What a bunch of BS. Watch the alphabet media, load up their pants with everything from comparing this to Alger Hiss to a reason for the fantasy of global warming and why its our Presidents fault. (9 degrees this morning) Lil' Nancy was already rattling about how this is a referendum demanding an investigation of President Bush and VP Cheney. What an idiot..

But if he lied, he deserves everything he gets. And probably deserves more. Certainly more than Sandy Burgler got for stealing top secret documents in his pants. I want hard time for those who have such contempt for our judical system.

I’ll try to do some mind reading here and assume your referring to President Clinton ,if I’m wrong correct me

First false hood= what was the families name that did the and furnishings

Here is a report the Wall Street Columest Jackie Calmes and Phil Kuntz reported some facts. Here's what the two killjoys said:

<<CALMES AND KUNTZ: A look at recent years' reports of presidential gifts indicates the Clintons' overall take during their term isn't greatly out of line with the two previous administrations.>>

<<Say what? What about the way they "stuffed everything in their pockets?" What about the "plunder" we'd heard described? Jackie and Phil did the numbers:>>

<<CALMES AND KUNTZ: President George H.W. Bush, Mr. Clinton's immediate predecessor, kept an average $39,614 worth of personal gifts a year in inflation adjusted dollars during his four years in office. Mr. Clinton took gifts valued at an average of $38,838 a year, adjusted for inflation: both took more than President Ronald Reagan.>>

If you have a subscription to the Wall Street Journal, you can I assume, get into the archives the original report .

second allusion to a falsehood= did we have a family in the white house lead by a felon? Wish I knew the answer

Well Dude your wish just came true.

A trip to snopes knocks that out of the box.

Cl Bill Clinton was the first pardoned federal felon to serve as President.=FALSE

http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/felon.asp

Third falsehood= what’s the guy that lost his law license

your claim that he lost his law license is not true, it was suspended ,and guess what, the suspension is over .Don’t believe me, check out this post on the Freeper website, heres the link.

Here is the last libelous statement

the list of friends that have died suspicious

Snopes is sure getting a workout today

The Clinton body count…the claim. …Bill Clinton is doing away with those that oppose him = FALSE

http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/bodycount.asp

OK Laddies here is what I have to refute the claims that you have made ,now show me proof you have to back up yours.

Of course if you were not referring to The Clinton's ,who were you alluding to?

Re: Jury convicts Libby on four of five charges

Libby is a fool and a joker. I still do not like a prosecuter using the considerable power of the US Gov't to bring someone down without an underlying crime being committed. That said, I doubt he can overturn the outcome, and I doubt Bush will pardon him. Lying to a Grand Jury is a crime and a big one. I don't care what Bill Clinton did or did not do. At least one side has some credibility in how criminals are dealt with, if Bush pardons then the Republicans will be just like Democrats, (maybe not quite as bad). Respectfully JR
