Re: Just a question.

I really like the look of the bow rails, but they are a pain in #$%@#$ when trying to get in the boat when beached. I will have to cut the center out of mine to mount my trolling motor. Where can a guy get the bullet plugs for the ends of the tube after cutting them off?

I think it?s called a Tubing Foot or End Cap
Try an Upholstery Shop, they run for a buck a pair.
You could also look at HD or your hardware store for one of these.

That?s what I have on mine. It?s called a chrome hole plug.
Let me know if you have no luck, I could mail a pair out to you.

Re: Just a question.

i found the easiest way to remove the ones on my donorboat was to saw the hull open so i could access the hardware.....even this level of fiberglass work makes you appreciate aluminum!

i actually plan to mount one of the bow rails on the Starchief, laterally along front edge of cabin roof, so i can have a handhold or place to clip a safety line when going up on bow in bad seas......i just know that Murphy is going to punish me for buying the cruiser instead of an open boat by causing many fish to try to wrap me around the bow.....

Any time actually. You tell me when....I can have all of it off in just a few minutes.

N1265--

i think she meant you, i'm not in the market for a windshield. in fact, i'll soon have a spare in case anyone needs one, as wife wants me to step it up on sending the donor boat to dump. "Sure, honey, i'll stop on the way home and pick up that Sawzall, i'll stop at nothing to make you happy...." ;-)
