Just wanted to thank you all for the great information you have provided on this forum. Knowing very little about motors (other than basic "theory" fuel+air+spark+compression=working motor), I undertook the rehab of a 1960 Johnson Seahorse 10 HP I bought in non-working condition on craigslist. I am sure my wife already had "What a waste of money", and "I told you not to buy that thing" loaded up in her smart-answer gun. Well, an impeller, two spark plugs, a carb re-build and lower unit oil change later she had no ammunition left, because I have a good running motor to put on the back of my 14' jonboat. Thanks again to all for answering questions I asked on this forum, as well as the questions I didn't have to ask, just search for the answers.

I don't think I helped on this one but, YW anyway. Great group of people here and they are very knowledgeable!

BTW, if you really want to impress your wife, add up all of the receipts for stuff that you bought for your motor, then get a few prices for a brand new motor of the same horsepower. She'll prolly think you are a genius after she sees what the difference is! :D
