Any one with some knowledge or expierience? A 14' game fisher boat are they safe for inland ocean going?
I've been restoring one & was just wondering going to test mine at the lake first before I try mine in the ocean it has a simular bow to the boston whaler so I think it might be ok.

Just bought this trailer & boat came with it so redoing both. I was working inside on the boat through the winter almost done now just a few minor things to address & now that Spring is almost here it's starting to warm up outside. So I'm starting on the trailer I've replaced the bearings greased, sealed added bearing buddies & started sanding Lots of sanding. LOL I Por 15ed the axle & once I get all the layers of paint off I'll spray with a 93% Zinc in the dry film?..provides the equivalent corrosion protection of Hot Dip Galvanizing or so they say?

Has any one on here ever here ever used one of these boats in sheltered inland seas? how do they preform? Guess I will soon find out as Lingcod season is just around the corner now. Getting trailer ready new paint, lights & wiring

Re: 14' Gamefisher resto

I had what looked like an earlier version of that hull. They were constructed from sheets of a pvc type material on hot stainless steel molds pressed together...similar to how Hobie cats were made. Mine was used hard and banged around but only had 4hp & 9.9hp OMCs. The hull flexed a lot but stayed together. The problem was the seating and live well didn't stay attached to the hull and epoxy gluing them back didn't hold. If yours is actually fiberglass instead of the plastic "stuff" it shouldn't be a problem and the rig will do ok.

I do believe it is fiberGlass as the original fiberglass cloth can be quite easily seen upon close inspection of the inside of the Hull & gunnels. All I'm running on it is a 8HP Mariner hopefully it will be fine. thanks Bill

If you plan to stay in the bays you will be fine, I ran a 15ft runabout in they bays in Florida with no problems at all.

Sheltered inland bays & inland protected narrows are my goal I ran a Wide & Deep 12' Prince craft aluminum last year with no trouble & landed lots of fish. But this boat is roomier inside so figured I'd try it out. Thanks jjkc
